Support Mechnikov Fund in Ukraine
Update (July 1, 2022): Presently, the collection of donations is suspended, due to the difficulties of transfer into a Ukrainian branch of a Russian bank. Further details concerning the support of the Metchnikoff educational fund will be forthcoming. Obviously, the education about Metchnikoff’s legacy will be relevant long time after any temporary troubles are over.

Below is a request of support for the “International fund of memory І.І. Mechnikov” located in Slobozhanshina (Kharkov District, Ukraine, Mechnikov’s birthplace) that works to maintain and popularize the cultural and scientific legacy of the Nobel Laureate in Medicine, the founder of gerontology and cell immunology Ilja Mechnikov and promotes scientific education in Ukraine (in biology, ecology, history etc.) via the Mechnikov Museum that they maintain in Dvorichna, Kharkov District, field research, young talent competitions, lectures, conferences and round tables, book publications, etc. (and now also help for the local population in need) http://mechnikov.dvorichna-vo.gov.ua/

The organizing committee of Charitable organization “International fund of memory І.І. Mechnikov” and compatriots of outstanding scientist and Nobel Prize Winner from Slobozhanshina (Kharkov District, Ukraine) apply to you for help.
The aim of the fund was to perpetuate the memory of our outstanding compatriot Ilja Mechnikov, who initiated the fight for health and long life of the mankind. Now we live in the hard time of devastation, horror, lack of medicine and food products. The humanitarian catastrophe is nearing. Now its the hard time for us to help the Ukrainian people, especially women, children and aged people to overcome the terrors of war.
